How to order grubstreet books

grubstreet books is devoted to publishing small works of literary non-fiction.

The term grubstreet originated in eighteenth century England to describe the area of London inhabited by impecunious scribblers struggling to eke out a living. In his wonderful dictionary, Samuel Johnson writes: “Originally the name of a street near Moorfields in London, much inhabited by writers of small histories, dictionaries, and temporary poems whence any mean production is called grubstreet.”

Unlike our eighteenth century counterparts, our books, both hard copy and electronic, are handsomely produced.
